The Primera Liga club has signed a shirt sponsorship deal with the regional government, worth a reported €500,000. The club is one of two clubs, along with Barcelona, that have never entered into a commercial deal for shirt sponsorship. Club officials will be asking permission from UEFA to wear shirts bearing the word ‘Euskadi’ (Basque Country) for their remaining two group games in the UEFA Cup.
