Infront Sports & Media has announced an agreement with OTI for the broadcast rights to the 2006 FIFA World Cup in key markets across Central and South America.  This deal marks the completion of 2006 FIFA World Cup agreements across Central and South America. OTI, the most powerful television organization in the region, represents a large number of Spanish language broadcasters from more than 20 nations, primarily in Central and South America. The agreement between Infront and OTI covers 15 specific territories: Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela. In addition to this agreement, separate broadcast rights agreements have also been made by Infront in Central and South America with TV Globo and DirecTV.  Oliver Seibert, an Executive Director of Infront, said: "This agreement is good news - it completes Infront's implementation of FIFA's distribution plan for Central and South America, giving the participating networks and FIFA sponsors plenty of time to plan their promotional activities in this important football market far ahead of the event." "This is a vital football region and we are very pleased to have such a strong partner as OTI. This deal means that football fans across Central and South America will receive the best possible coverage of the FIFA World Cup 2006." Mr Guillermo CaƱedo White, Executive President of OTI said "OTI is very happy with the outcome of this important and successful negotiation and is pleased to be working in partnership with FIFA and Infront".
