DC United will have to accept ground sharing

Washington city officials have secured the Major League Baseball franchise Montreal Expos, and finally managed to bring baseball back to Washington after 30 years since it lost the Senators. Mayor Anthony Williams and the DC City Council have made plans to house the baseball team in a new US$400m stadium but in the interim period the franchise will share the RFK stadium with the football (soccer) club. The mayor has pledged to spend US$13m on refurbishing the arena, however the upgrade is expected to provide some positives for the club as the stadium’s corporate boxes are expected to receive a makeover that should enhance offerings to high-end ticket holders and corporate clients.
