Israel national team away fixtures to be broadcast on Channel 1

After last month FIFA 2006 World Cup qualifier against France in Paris was not broadcasted to Israeli viewers, most of criticism was aimed to public Channel 1 which came close to buy the rights only hours before kick-off time, but failed to get approval at the top level. Channel 1 is operated by a public broadcasting authority that collects NIS900m (�164.7m) a-year from the public. However, intensive negotiations lead by CEO Joseph Barel, has seen the public channel guaranteeing the broadcasts of all away fixtures. The deal was made with sports agency Sportfive.
