The Russian Football Union (RFU) has overturned a decision of the Professional Football League (PFL), allowing to Alania Vladikavkaz and Lokomotiv Chita stay in the First Division. Alania, which are subject to ongoing investigations by the Russian prosecutor office, and Terek Grozny were relegated from the Premier Liga last season and the PFL had earlier decided to include Lada Togliatti and Mashuk Pyatogorsk into the First Division instead of the pair.
"We let both clubs stay put. There are certain juridical issues, there are sporting issues. RFU is a sporting organization and this concept is more important to us," RFU president Vitaly Mutko commented to media.
