The 1.Bundesliga club has revealed it may consider selling its Arena AufSchalke stadium to ease its financial situation. The club has debts reported to be around the €100m, and business manager Rudi Assauer sees the sale of the 61,000-capacity arena, as a means of addressing the shortfall. "Within ten minutes, we could sell the stadium for far more than it cost us to build," Assauer told media. "We could even sell the rights to its name, which we don't really want anyway.”
