Rafa Benitez in DIC's Liverpool plans

Unlike Tom Hicks and George Gillett, Dubai Investment Capital knows how to play to the English Liverpool fans.
DIC, which has been trying to take over the club from Gillett and Hicks, said it would back manager Rafa Benitez if successful. Gillett and Hicks watched their popularity plummet when they went looking for a potential Benitez successor last year.
Hicks claimed it was Gillett who wanted to remove Benitez and hire Jurgen Klinsmann.
DIC agreed in principle to buy Gillett's 50-percent share, but have been rebuffed by the even more unpopular Hicks, who also can hold up Gillett's sale.
