English Manchester United remain the most valuable club for the fourth consecutive year, according to Forbes magazine.

The club, which was bought by American Malcolm Glazer for USD 1.5 billion in 2005, is now valued by Forbes at USD 1.8 billion.

By comparison, the most valuable U.S. professional sports team is the National Football League's Dallas Cowboys, which Forbes valued at USD 1.5 billion last September.

Forbes values teams based on what they have sold for in the past relative to sales and profits, broadcast agreements and debt from new and pending stadium deals.
