Arsenal Broadband Limited has switched owners, with ITV selling to KSE UK Inc. for GBP 22.7 million.
KSE is controlled by U.S. businessman — and English Arsenal shareholder — Stan Kroenke. The move gives Kroenke a stake in Arsenal.com, the club's internet vehicle.
ITV will pay Arsenal GBP 1 million for certain rights and will no longer be the commercial agent for the club or deal with Arsenal's licensing activities.
ITV is now out of the football asset business, in that it had stakes, but later sold them, in the online enterprises of Arsenal and Liverpool.
Right after the deal, Arsenal Broadband struck an agreement with MLS Colorado Rapids, a club owned by Kroenke. The Arsenal-Rapids agreement is an effort to strike a strategic accord between the two clubs, and to raise the English club's profile in the United States.
