The Gea World sports agency is again seeing its time in court.
As part of the great Italian football scandal of two years ago, the agency was accused of strong-arming members to join. Now six men stand trial for unfair competition through coercion.
Marcello Lippi had to testify that he believed there was no conflict with him being a manager and his son being an agent.
Lippi was coach of Juventus from 1994-1999 and 2001-2004, working under general manager Luciano Moggi. Their sons Davide Lippi and Alessandro Moggi both worked for Gea. The Moggis are both defendants.
The elder Lippi denied being pressured by Luciano Moggi on decisions for players on the Italian national team.
That comes after a state prosecutor bore down on Fabio Capello, saying he was withholding information. The prosecutor promised to investigate Capello.
