Scottish Hearts deputy chief executive Pedro Lopez said he hopes the club can be debt free within 15 years after the redevelopment of Tynecastle.
"We would like to see that in 15 years, maybe 20," Lopez told the Scotsman. "It also depends, of course, how successful we are on the pitch in that time."
The club submitted a planning proposal for a GBP 51 million redevelopment of the home ground.
Lopez sees the opportunity for redevelopment to cause a GBP 2.5 million surge in ticket revenues. There will be extra finances from executive boxes, a 1,000-seat restaurant and 2,000 hospitality suites.
While Lopez said the club is not going the way of English Manchester United, where heavy borrowing is eating into the club's profits, Hearts will publish their final 2006-2007 accounts within the month.
