Adjust font size: Decrease font Enlarge font
The Bonham Group, a Denver sports and entertainment marketing firm valued more than US$5.2bn in sponsorships, which has a record of great success with naming rights projects all over the US, has been appointed to find a sponsor foe the new complex. Construction will begin on the football (soccer) specific stadium in 2005, and it will open for the Rapids' 2007 Major League Soccer season. The US$131m complex will include youth fields, retail development, a new Commerce City civic center and a new visitors' center for the Rocky Mountain Arsenal Wildlife Refuge. The stadium will be the seventh football (soccer) specific stadium in the country. Currently open are Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, and Home Depot Center in Carson, California. Soccer-specific stadiums are being built in Dallas and Rochester, N.Y. There also are plans for stadiums in Chicago and the New York-New Jersey area.
