Sheffield United retains profit for first time in years
England - 29 October, 2007
English Sheffield United turned a GBP 6.3 million profit for this past financial year after taking a GBP 8 million loss the previous year.
Retained profits as of June 2007 were GBP 500,000. That was with transfers added to the mix, and cause for a little celebration at the club.
"I am pleased to be able to report a retained profit for the first time in many years," said club chief executive Jason Rockett.
Turnover increased to GBP 45.8 million, though wages were up 67 percent from the previous year.
