Sponsors back Rooney

Despite allegations of meeting prostitutes, Everton forward Wayne Rooney has been backed by his three main sponsors Coca-Cola (£0.5m a-year), Nike (£0.65m a-year) and Ford (£1m a-year) who informed they will continue their cooperation with the player. “The recent revelations about his private life are inconsistent with Coca-Cola values, but Rooney regretted his mistakes and we believe everyone deserves a second chance – he’s still a great talent,” said Coca-Cola spokesman to media. Rooney has also running sponsorship deals with MasterCard (£0.35m a-year) and potato chip brand Pringles (£0.2m a-year).
