Austria, a host country for the UEFA EURO 2008, was the location where UEFA and ORF, an Austrian national public service broadcaster, signed a contract that will let ORF provide live coverage of all 31 UEFA EURO 2008 matches on its primary free-to-air channel ORF1.

According to uefa.com, the contract also gives ORF radio stations non-exclusive broadcast rights and ORF television and radio stations will air extensive coverage leading up to UEFA EURO 2008.

"The conclusion of the agreement between UEFA and the ORF is very good news for Austria and Austrian football fans," said UEFA General Secretary, David Taylor. Through the national broadcast platform that ORF will provide, we are convinced that the UEFA EURO 2008 tournament will be promoted as a very special event to the Austrian public. We are all looking forward to a fantastic football tournament."

For the first time, UEFA sells the rights of the tournament directly, while Hamburg-based marketing agency, SPORTFIVE, act as the exclusive sales agent for the European broadcast rights.
