Sheffield United looking at civil courts

Adjust font size: Decrease font Enlarge font
After the appeals panel ruled against its inclusion in the Premier League, English Sheffield United is checking its legal options, looking at the civil courts.

The club denied it will ask for a High Court judgment.

The action came after a league board panel fined West Ham for its role in the transfers of Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano, in which the club did not have all documentation in place for third-party deals. West Ham received no points penalty, and that proved to be the difference between West Ham being handed second-tier status and Sheffield United staying in the Premier League.

The appeals panel could not change West Ham's punishment, but could have ordered a new independent commission to judge the case.
