Juventus announces revenue fall due to relegation

With revenues plunging due to relegation to Italy's Serie B, Juventus had a third quarter loss of EUR 4.5 million compared to pulling a EUR 6.6 million profit the previous year.

Revenues for the club, relegated from Serie A after the match-fixing scandal, fell 48.1 percent to EUR 39.1 million with lower television rights and sponsorship income blamed.

The club still expects to hit the June 30 fiscal end at even. Leading to the quarter ending 31 March, the company had a net profit of EUR 10.9 million, compared with a 9.3 million loss a year earlier, with player sales having a big role.

News also got better for the club when the Fiat Group came aboard as a shirt sponsor. The deal lasts from July through June 2010, and is estimated to be valued at EUR 33 million a year.

The logo of "New Holland", the Fiat division that manufactures agricultural equipment, will appear on Juventus' shirts for at least the upcoming 2007-2008 season.
