Red Bull Park gets the green light

Adjust font size: Decrease font Enlarge font
Red Bull Park is now closer to being built after the planning board has given the New York-based club the OK to build the 25,000-seat home for the MLS New York Red Bulls.

It will be the New York metropolitan area's first football-specific stadium, sited in Newark, New Jersey.

The USD 150 million park is projected to host a series of international matches, and as well as concerts and special events.

The stadium is expected to be completed by mid-2008, near the latter half of the Red Bulls' season. Red Bull Park is set to be the cornerstone to the USD 1 billion Harrison MetroCentre Development, the largest such brownfield renewal initiative currently under way in New Jersey, with 3,500 housing units, 3 million square feet of office space.
