Two replaced on EURO board

UEFA treasurer Marios N. Lefkaritis and Chief Executive ad interim Gianni Infantino were elected to the board of administration of Euro 2008 SA, the company responsible for organising next summer's final round in Austria and Switzerland.

The two men were chosen at the extraordinary general meeting of Euro 2008 SA in Nyon, Switzerland, to replace former UEFA CEO Lars-Christer Olsson and Mathieu Sprengers.

The general meeting was necessary as a result of the recent XXXI Ordinary UEFA Congress in Düsseldorf.

The eighth meeting of the EURO 2008 SA board of administration followed the general meeting. It was the first to be chaired by Austrian FA president Friedrich Stickler since he took over from Swiss FA president, Ralph M. Zloczower, at the beginning of the year.

Stickler was happy with the prep work for UEFA EURO 2008, which takes place between 7 and 29 June next year.

"Preparations are going according to schedule and we are pleased," said Stickler.

The next meeting of the Euro 2008 SA board of administration is scheduled for 20 August, 2007.
