Salt Lake County is seeking more funding for a Sandy, Utah stadium to house MLS Real Salt Lake.
Sandy Mayor Tom Dolan told the Deseret Morning News that the city is considering promoting a bill to create another funding source to help pay for the 136-acre MLS project.
Dolan has been discussing funding options with local official Greg Curtis, who is fearing a legislative fight.
A club spokesman also declined to comment on any bills that might help fund a stadium.
Real Salt Lake and county leaders have been negotiating over a USD 30-million hotel tax to help fund the stadium.
Salt Lake County Mayor Peter Corroon denied the club's first funding plan in May, and the County Council followed suit in July. At that time, Dolan declared the project "dead".
