An agreement between English Premier League Champions Chelsea and SINA, an Internet company in China, calls for a Mandarin language website to be launched in mainland China in 2007.
SINA.com's sports site has traffic of over 40 million, which is three times more than its closest competitor, and a market share of more than 50 percent.
The new site will be based on the redesign of the club's website, chelseafc.com, which was launched last week.
According to Premiership sponsor Barclays, Chelsea scored a 16 percent popularity rating in China and a league average of 5 percent per club.
Chelsea ranks fourth in popularity of all foreign clubs just slightly behind English Manchester United but ahead of Spanish clubs Barcelona and Real Madrid.
