A contract was extended until 2010 between ESPN STAR Sports and the FA Premier League to air live broadcasts of the Premier League matches to South Asia.

The agreement allows ESPN STAR Sports the right to broadcast 370 matches per season throughout India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Mongolia and Maldives by way of television, broadband and mobile technologies.

The deal comes four days after ESPN STAR Sports bought the same Premier League rights for 12 key South East Asian countries. They are Malaysia, Indonesia, South Korea, North Korea, Brunei, The Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, Taiwan and Macau.

ESPN will broadcast coverage through its television channels, website, and its wireless mobile ESPN.
