ESPN Classic reached an agreement with the English Premier League for access to a library of 200 matches since the formation of the league, from which it will initially select 50 games to air.

These games will be shown on ESPN Classic every weekday at 7pm, starting October 9. ESPN Classic will be the first broadcaster outside Sky, The BBC and ITV to gain rights to show this unrivalled Premiership content in the UK.

"ESPN Classic is a great way for the Premier League to showcase some of our most memorable moments since the start of the competition in 1992. This deal gives our fans a chance to relive and enjoy classic Premiership matches from over the years and we are delighted to be working with ESPN Classic on this venture," Phil Lines, Head of Media Operations at the FA Premier League said.

"We are delighted we have been able to secure this fantastic content for the channel," Tony Stimpson, Director of Programming, Europe at ESPN Classic said. "The Premiership has given British football fans some wonderful moments through the years and fulfils ESPN Classic's ambition to bring the best of British Sport to UK sports fans, we're thrilled these flagship matches will be a part of our exciting Autumn schedule."
