TVR gets EURO 2008 Romanian rights

UEFA has agreed a deal with Societatea Romana de Televiziune (TVR) for the UEFA EURO 2008 broadcast rights in Romania.
TVR is the traditional home of national team football in Romania and a long-standing partner of UEFA. TVR has shown all past editions of the UEFA European Championship and in view of its long-term experience in broadcasting major football events presented itself as the best partner for UEFA.
"We are confident that TVR, with its experience and editorial ability, will offer the Romanian audience a great broadcast platform that will enhance their experience of UEFA EURO 2008," UEFA CEO Lars-Christer Olsson said.
The broadcast rights to the UEFA European Championship are being sold on a market-by-market basis for the first time in the 46-year history of the tournament. SPORTFIVE is UEFA's exclusive sales agent for the exploitation of European broadcast rights relating to UEFA EURO 2008.
