Former Premier League commercial director launches new agency
England - 11 August, 2006
Stephen Pearson, the former English Premier League commercial director and marketing director of Team AG, has launched sports marketing agency Sports Media Gaming.
Pearson said the agency would allow clients to stand out in the sponsorship market, and planned a range of services beyond sports marketing, including sports betting services and outdoor advertising.
"The media landscape is constantly changing and that applies to brands that have typically been involved in sports marketing," Pearson said. "The skills that we have applied to the sports marketing industry are now being used to great effect in both media and gaming industries."
The company has set up Flightpath Media, a subsidiary firm, which created the outdoor ad for Unilever's Lynx deodorant at Gatwick Airport in July 2005.
Sports Media Gaming also brokered the shirt sponsorship deal between Fulham and Pipex, and negotiated deals between snooker player Peter Ebdon, 888.com and Thomson Holidays.
In 1998, Pearson became the FA Premier League's first commercial director, forming Sportacus in 2000.
