Adidas extended its long-term partnership with UEFA following a new commitment to UEFA EURO 2008 and the UEFA Champions League.

Adidas' pledge to further support the flagship competitions at national-team and club level was announced at a ceremony in Berlin.

"For UEFA, this partnership means that we are in the fortunate position to be working with one of the top brands in football," UEFA President Lennart Johansson said. "We are very pleased therefore to have concluded the contracts with adidas for both our top national team and our top club competitions."

As an official tournament sponsor, adidas has global rights to the 2008 UEFA European Championship. The deal includes licensing rights and the opportunity to create and market a new and unique official match ball.

Adidas will supply equipment for officials, referees, volunteers and ball boys. The deal also includes a further eleven events, including the 2007 and 2009 UEFA European Under-21 Championship and the 2009 UEFA European Women's Championship. It also covers numerous education courses for coaches and referees until 2009.

Adidas will be the official ball supplier for all UEFA Champions League matches until 2009, now supplying the balls for all 32 clubs taking part in the UEFA Champions League group stage. The company will also continue to provide a special Finale starball for the 2007, 2008 and 2009 UEFA Champions League finals, with the ball already being sold in more than 60 countries.

The company, which also will have the rights to design and market exclusive UEFA Champions League-branded sportswear, will continue to supply more than 1,000 final volunteers with sportswear and support the UEFA Young Champions event.
