NOS will be the primary official free-to-air broadcast partner in the Netherlands for UEFA EURO 2008.

NOS has been granted the exclusive rights to 27 of the 31 matches in the tournament in Austria and Switzerland. Rights to the other four matches, and Dutch  pay-per-view rights have not been finalised.

“NOS is one of Europe’s most experienced sports broadcasters, having broadcast all previous major sporting events in the Netherlands,” UEFA CEO Lars-Christer Olsson said. “NOS is a long-standing partner of European football in light of their historic involvement in the UEFA European Championship and the UEFA Champions League.

“We are therefore delighted to have appointed NOS as our main broadcasting partner for the Netherlands and are confident that we will be able to reach our ambitious goals for UEFA EURO 2008™ with them.”

The broadcast rights to the UEFA European Championship final tournament are being sold on a market-by-market basis for the first time in the tournament’s 46-year history. SPORTFIVE is acting as UEFA’s agent for European broadcast rights.
