Real Salt Lake announces TV schedule

The Major League Soccer (MLS) club announced its regular-season TV schedule, with 15 total games being broadcast on either local or cable stations.

KSL 5 TV in Salt Lake, the city’s NBC affiliate, will broadcast seven of the club’s games, an increase from last year when the station broadcast five.

Fox Sports Utah will broadcast the remaining games.

The second year of the club’s “RSL on KSL” broadcast agreement got underway earlier this month when the station broadcast the club’s season opener against Los Angeles CD Chivas USA. An added feature for this year’s broadcasts will be the availability of SAP (second audio patch) that will offer Spanish play-by-play of the games.

KSL will also televise the club’s April road games from Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas, against FC Dallas and the club’s first trip to Robertson Stadium to take on the Houston Dynamo.

We are elated to continue our partnership with KSL during the 2006 campaign,” RSL General Manager Steve Pastorino said. “During the 2005 season, this deal represented the largest number of games on a network over-the-air affiliate in Major League Soccer’s 10-year history, and we are proud to surpass that accomplishment in year two of our partnership.”
