Aston Villa reports losses

The Premier League announced the interim results for the six months ended 30 November 2005. The club recorded a widened first half pre-tax loss of GBP 9.5 million compared with a loss of GBP 8.7million a year ago. Turnover fell by 7 percent to GBP 17.7 million from GBP 19 million, partly as a result of a GBP 0.6 million fall in television revenues. The club reported a profit on the disposal of player registrations of GBP 2.4 million compared with a loss of GBP 1 million a year before. There was no interim dividend declared.
