The Football League club has finally received the go-ahead to start work on their new ground after signing a management contract with construction firm HSR St.Gallen. Work on the EU 205m project had initially been due to start in September 2005 but was postponed for several months due to a dispute over technical and financial matters. Work will now begin on 1 December. The board, who started work on the stadium project six years ago, expect to leave their outdated Espenmoos-Stadion and move to the yet unnamed ground in time for the start of the 2008-09 season. The 21,000-capacity ground is to form part of a large shopping and recreational complex including several large stores, a bowling centre, a swimming pool and various restaurants.
