Betfred in a deal with Wembley National Stadium

The contract which runs until 2010 sees Betfred bookmakers become the exclusive official bookmaker of the sports and entertainment venue, operating all betting units in the stadium.

Betfred will provide betting services for the 90,000-capacity venue, including the Club Wembley 10-year seat and executive box areas, and will seek to leverage its expose by promoting Club Wembley corporate hospitality packages. Wembley Stadium's corporate hospitality sales have topped the GBP 3m mark. Three of the five sections of the Club Wembley programme's gold and silver ten year seats have now sold out.

The deal marks Betfred's first foray into sports deals outside horse racing.

The FA Cup Final in May is scheduled to be the first event staged at the venue, despite concerns that construction work could overrun.
