Major League Soccer (MLS) has announced a partnership with Accor North America to promote the hotel chain’s Red Roof Inn and Motel 6 brands. Accor, the largest operator of budget accommodation in the US, will receive commercial time and on-screen sponsorship during MLS’ ‘Soccer Saturday’ program broadcast on ESPN 2 until the end of the season, including play-offs. This will also apply to the main event of the season, the MLS Cup 2005, broadcast on ABC. The company already had an onscreen presence during the 2005 Sierra Mist MLS All Star game. Red Roof Inn will be promoted during Eastern Conference games while Motel 6 will feature during Western Conference games "Major League Soccer fits well with the key geographic markets of our Red Roof Inn and Motel 6 brands," said Eric Studer, Accor Sr. VP, Advertising & Promotions. "And with the broadcast being on ESPN2, our customers can actually view the games in our rooms at our 1100 Red Roof Inns and Motel 6 properties."
