Match Day Media (MDM) has announced that it has been awarded new contracts to install its plasma screen television services in five football stadia bringing the total number of clubs it supplies to twelve. MDM currently operates over 500 state-of-the-art plasma screens with full audio support delivering a mix of pre-match content, live match feed and half-time highlights, live scores, data and news, alongside TV commercials and advertiser- funded content.
MDM.TV’s current aggregated trans-stadia audience is 700,000 fans every month at seven leading clubs – Arsenal, Aston Villa, Derby County, Manchester City, Manchester United, Newcastle United, and West Ham United. All clubs are on the same five year contracts. MDM has now signed up to the TV network are Bolton Wanderers, Everton, Middlesbrough and West Bromwich Albion and Championship club, Leeds United. The contract wins follow the successful completion of a £4 million private placing which was significantly oversubscribed. The funds are to be used to extend the Group’s stadium based network from seven of the UK’s leading football clubs, to 15 ahead of the 2005/06 season, driving audience figures to 15 million per season.
