The Allsvenska club has been given the go-ahead to build a new stadium. The Malmo council has doubled their contribution to the plans, from €8.2m to €6.4m, while the rest of the money (around €3.8m) will come from the existing sponsors. "We have eight companies who are prepared to put money in and we need that kind of number," said Chairman Bengt Madsen. The club is aiming to build a 26-28,000 seats stadium which will include restaurants, VIP-boxes and conference rooms.
