DFL plan to boost Asian market

Adjust font size: Decrease font Enlarge font
The German Football League (DFL) is determined to boost the global popularity of the Bundesliga through a new marketing campaign. The campaign follows leading Bundesliga chairmen criticizing the organization for failing to generate enough income from foreign TV contracts and other marketing activities abroad, claiming that the Bundesliga must challenge the hegemony of the English Premier League, the Spanish Primera Liga and Italy's Serie A. "We must focus our energies on strengthening our position in emerging markets like China," DFL manager Christian Seifert, who is convinced that German football should turn to the growing Asian market.
