The MLS club has announced a deal with soft drinks company Sierra Mist for the 2005 season. Sierra Mist will put highly visible logos on the backs and sleeves of the jerseys and the shorts. This year the club will not only compete in the MLS but also the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup and the CONCACAF Champions Cup. "We are pleased to join forces with the most successful team in MLS history," said John Galloway, VP of sports and media, Pepsi-Cola North America. "This affiliation furthers our commitment to the sport of soccer and is a tremendous platform to showcase our partnership with Freddy Adu." Sierra Mist is one of the league's most visible partners, already sponsoring the All-Star game, the Sierra Mist Dribble, Pass and Score skills competition and the Goal of the Week and Goal of the Year contests.
