Thousands of Ukraine's leading football club fans has gathered in the centre of Kiev y to voice concerns over the recent decision by a court in Kiev to freeze shares in the club. The dispute comes down to a disagreement between president Ihor Surkis and former business partner Konstantin Grigorishin. The court ruled in February in favor of Grigorishin, declaring that the Pacific International Sports Clubs Limited, which owns 0.1% per cent of the club's stock should have been given the opportunity to acquire stock made available to third parties. The club's major shareholders, former Ukraine president Leonid Kravchuk and Surkis claim that Grigorishin was given the opportunity to buy shares in 2004 but refused, resulting in his stake being diluted after the new share issue. Club's shareholders also intend to apply the assistance of the football governing FIFA and UEFA and ask them to protect the club.
