Telecom Italia to broadcast football on ADSL

The telecommunication company, which has achieved a 4.010m broadband customer base, announced it plans to double the speed of its broadband basic tier service to 1.2 megabits per second. The higher speed will allow for transmission over its Rosso Alice internet service, of football games involving 26 Serie A and B clubs, including Inter, Juventus, Milan, and Roma. The company is also working on a trial in four cities of internet via the TV set, using a set-top box instead of a personal computer
