Crystal Palace set to emerge from administration

English football club Crystal Palace is getting ready to come out of administration. The deadline for an appeal to be filed against their Company Voluntary Agreement (CVA) has passed and there are no immediate barriers to their emerging out of administration.

The Championship club went into administration in January and last month Steve Parish's CPFC 2010 consortium put together a rescue package that has helped the club survive.  Portsmouth, the other club which had a Company Voluntary Agreement, is facing difficulties as Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs has filed an appeal against that CVA.

This implies that now CPFC 2010 can take complete control of the club after applying for a transfer of Palace's Football League share. The transfer embargo imposed on the club will also be lifted and the club can get new players.

Brendan Guilfoyle, the administrator, said: "This is now the beginning of the end of the rescue of Crystal Palace FC. I am delighted and would like to express my sincere gratitude for the support and patience of the staff and fans and indeed everyone involved at Crystal Palace. I would like to say a special thank you to Steve Parish. Without his determination and tenacity it would not have been possible to resolve the many difficulties that arose during such complex and lengthy negotiations."
