The full-year pretax profit for English Tottenham Hotspur Football Club totaled GBP 33.4 million, a record for the club, Reuters reports.

The previous year’s figure was only GBP 3 million. The increase is largely due to the player trading profit of 56.5 million.

Without the revenue from player trading, also before restructuring and depreciation charges, the profit from operations dropped 31 per cent leaving a profit of GBP 24.1 million. Revenue fell 1.6 per cent to GBP 113 million.

Tottenham Hotspur is currently fourth in the league, though they finished eighth in the Premier League for the 2008-2009 season.

Club shares went up 0.75 pence.
