Michel Platini, UEFA president, is in the process of formulating plans that will prevent English football clubs from deepening debts, according to the Press Association.

Platini insists that the new regulations are intended to benefit the clubs in the long run, and allow them to have ‘better balances,’ Platini told the Daily Telegraph.

The main idea behind the effort is to stop football clubs from spending more money that they earn. Millions our pounds in interest payments paid by indebted clubs each year are not acceptable.

Platini believes that club owners are generally willing to comply, while some chief executives may not welcome new regulations.
