The Sunday Mirror reports that English Chelsea players will now have to pay to eat at their own cafeteria in the Cobham training facility. This is an attempt to reduce costs due to the current global financial conditions, possibly at the request of Peter Kenyon, chief executive.

The expenses at the training ground are reviewed regularly, and the club is exploring ways to charge staff for certain services, according to a club spokesman. Frank Arnesen was responsible for the reductions in scouting and other activities. He says that Abramovich has asked that adjustments be made.

Club manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has been told to sell players currently in the margin.
