Broadcasting and marketing rights agency Trans World International (TWI), the Ligue de Football Professionel (LFP) international marketing partner, has more than doubled the territories in which Ligue 1 matches are televised. TWI officials commented that the significant interest is mainly due to the LFP’s deal with pay- TV broadcaster Canal Plus (€1.8bn in three years), which is the world’s most lucrative domestic broadcasting rights, and has brought Ligue 1 to become one of the world’s top-three leagues.
