Ligue de Football Professionel (LFP) officials have announced that 16 broadcasters have submitted an interest in bidding for the next round of the league broadcasting rights. The tender was divided to four packages covering live games on Saturday and Sunday, plus a highlights package and telephony rights. The LFP had income this year Eu305m for live broadcasts and additional Eu70m for the highlights. The rights will cover a three-year period from August 2005, and experts believe that the latest round of bidding will exceed Eu500m for the rights, especially if one company wins all four packages.
