MP & Silva buys worldwide Serie A TV rights

The international sports media company MP & Silva purchased the worldwide broadcasting rights for the Serie A for EUR 181.5 million, Reuters reports.

The deal was announced by the Italian Leaga Calcio on Friday, and the contract is to cover the 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 seasons. 

Rai, another broadcaster, purchased the 2010-2011 season radio rights and the Serie A highlights package for EUR 28.5 million. They also bought the same rights for the 2011-2012 season for EUR 30 million.

According to MP & Silva, the company has clients such as ESPN, BBC, and Eurosport.
