Future of Arsenal TV uncertain as Setanta falls into administration

The demise of Setanta may have left English Arsenal TV in the dust, as the club begins to explore the endurance of the channel in the broadcaster’s absence.

With Arsenal TV offered to fans as part of the Setanta package, the future of the channel could change, as noted by The Telegraph. Even though Arsenal TV is currently being transmitted by Sky and Virgin Media, Setanta’s move into administration will likely have some bearing on the channel’s availability.

According to a club statement, Arsenal will continue offering the service while they evaluate the ‘longer term viability of the channel’. 

While the club works to overcome the latest obstacle, manager Arsene Wenger is developing his own plan of attack. 

Wenger has indicated that after analysing the latest seasonal statistics, it’s evident that the club has shown improvement as a group. However, he further noted plans for defensive fine-tuning and was quick to point out that Arsenal conceded more goals than any of their top competitors.
 
While Wenger commended the team for sporting a stronger defense, he also noted that a few ‘goalless draws’ had surfaced this season.

Based on the figures, Wenger concluded that although Arsenal had about 70 percent possession in their home matches, it’s hard to move forward if an opponent scores the first goal.
