Infront extended its partnership with the Greek national broadcaster

Infront Sports & Media has extended its partnership with the Greek national broadcaster, the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation SA (ERT), signing an exclusive agreement covering all matches for the FIFA Confederations Cup Germany 2005. The unexpected victory of the Greek national football team in EURO 2004 gave the country automatic participation in the FIFA Confederations Cup 2005 - a competition between the continental champion teams of the world, plus the current World Champions (Brazil) and the team of the host country (Germany).  It also triggered a fierce battle between the major networks in Greece, all of whom wanted to win the right to follow Greek fortunes through the 2005 event. ERT, which already has an exclusive agreement with Infront for the Greek broadcast rights to the 2006 FIFA World Cup, was the winner. "This is an exciting time for Greek football - and for sport in Greece. Our co-operation with ERT has always been successful - ERT was a broadcast partner at the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan and we are delighted that the network will be covering the FIFA Confederations Cup 2005, guaranteeing maximum coverage of the event and the Greek national team" said Oliver Seibert, an Executive Director of Infront Sports & Media.
