The Premier League is considering the launch of its own television channel, provided 2010-2013 TV rights bids do not meet expectations.

The proposed channel, PLTV, Premier League Television, estimated revenue is marked around GBP 1 billion per season, considering that 1 million subscribers will pay GBP 200 annually (GBP 16.5 monthly).

With the vigorous competition between broadcasters, Setanta and Sky, it is unlikely that bids for the Premier League broadcasting rights will be sub-par.

"There is a fear factor among the broadcasters that will maintain a healthy rights income for the Premier League," an insider told The Telegraph.
