The French public-service broadcaster has made it known that it might throw in for the rights to Ligue 1.
France Télévisions acquired highlight rights earlier this year to the league for around EUR 25 million, but is looking for live action as well.
The broadcaster's announcement comes as regulators had allowed the league to offer four-year broadcasting deals as opposed to three.
Pay operator Canal Plus said it will not match the EUR 600 million-a-year deal in place for live rights from 2005-2006 to 2007-2008.
