IFM, the international media analysts has published its comprehensive analysis of the European club football TV coverage. The report covers all national and international competitions carried out in five European football markets (UK, France, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands). The study directly links the length of the coverage dedicated to each club to the audiences watching this coverage on a broadcast per broadcast basis, thus allowing direct comparison of long broadcasts with low audiences on Pay-TV to shorter broadcasts with high audiences on national broadcasters. According to the study, Spanish Real Madrid had over 620 hours of coverage despite the fact that they failed to win a single title this year. Real's coverage is triple the value generated by English Manchester United and more than twice what the finalist of the UEFA Champions League, French AS Monaco. The result generated by AS Monaco is quite considerable and underlines the importance of success on the international stage for clubs from the leagues which do not generate much air time outside their home markets such as the English Premier League or the Spanish Primera Division. The Club Index: 1) Real Madrid, 2. AC Milan, 3. AS Monaco, 4. FC Chelsea, 5. Manchester United, 6. FC Valencia.
